Start 11 Taskbar Control

Longtime user of Win10/Start10 and contemplating moving to Win11.

I know Start11 allows repositioning the taskbar to the top but what about in a multi-monitor setup?

I have a three monitor setup for my main system running Win10/Start10.

I like my main, center monitor completely free of the taskbar so for years under Win10 I have positioned the taskbar vertically on the right side of my left monitor. Win11 in its stock form does not allow me to do this. Can I do it using Start11?

Thanks,

Lloyd

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

It would be prudent to install the fully functional 30-day trial to see if Start11 is going to meet your needs and setup.

Curious about this too. I've used Start8 and Start10, but I don't want to upgrade to Start11 unless it actually improves the Taskbar experience.

I'm in a similar situation where I'd like to be able to move the taskbar to a secondary monitor at all - without designating the other monitor as my primary monitor in display settings.

My understanding is that Start 11 only supports the bottom and top positions on the primary monitor right now. Please correct me if this is wrong.

Just tried it and can now confirm, unfortunately, that Start 11 only supports the bottom and top positions on the primary monitor.

After thinking about this I have come up with a work-around of sorts that does work with Win11:

Go to Settings and Open Taskbar behaviors.

Select Automatically hide the taskbar as well Show my taskbar on all displays.

You can now move your mouse pointer to the left or right monitor to select items on the taskbar all the while keeping the main, center monitor free of the taskbar.
