Option to/how to rename pinned items?

So i have a portable app im trying to pin.  When it pin it, the exe name is not being used, it shows up with the File Description as the title of the shortcut which is basically a sentence...

I tried going to shell:user pinned and renaming it but that simply results in it disappearing from the start11 pins altogether.

we totally need a way to modify this as its entirely unpinnable at current.   I know with one of the older/tree style start menu's it would be possible easy peasy but i'm trying to stick with the windows 11'esque style and since i used open-shell up until windows 11 i'm not used to this "pins" thing.

becomes

and id prefer it become Steam ROM Manager as thats the name of the program.  Unfortunately a right-click rename option is not a thing :(

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Would like to suggest, right click on the .exe file and create shortcut to that. Rename the shortcut and pin the Shortcut instead.

Thanks

Hi Basj.  Yep, considered that. Would just be messy to create a bunch of shortcuts in the same folder as the exes every time something similar crops up. a baked in rename function would be nice but for now it sounds like custom shortcuts are gonna be my only option.

Hope they add this. Create shortcuts to pin them is not so handy. They just need to put a voice in the app's right click menu
