Changes from version 5 to 10

Hello, a few days ago I switched from windows 7 and Icon Packager 5 to windows 10 and Icon Packager 10.

And sadly, I am not as happy as I was with version 5  :'(

In version 5, if one opened the context menu for a file and selected "change icon", a Icon Packager menu opened where you could change icon for a filetype, but also "change the icon for this file only". In version 10 this is missing! Is it because of restrictions from windows 10?

Second, in the icon packager options, there was under advanced settings the option, "interface color", which is now missing the version 10.

Also the whole UI was for me more intuitive, I liked the groupig at the top, where you could select "Icons & Cursors" and have all the subcategories "desktop, start folders...." side by side. In version 10 there only a dropdown menu for the subcategories :(

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe, those differences are the because Windows 10 changers/limitations. But, I am not 100% sure since I am not the Dev of it or active Icon packager designer. Anyway, I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thanks

IconPackager 10 has always been a very sad disappointment. It's obvious that they neither had the patience or the interest in creating something great.

What is about version 5,10? Does it not work well with Windows 10? I haven't tested it yet.

Under no circumstances should you install IconPackager 5 on Windows 10 or 11.

It WILL break your OS.
