Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows 7,8,10 or 11? And its full version numbers. Please use Winver.exe to get those.
  2. Groupy version?
  3. System CPU, Intel, AMD or ARM Snapdragon etc?

Thanks

From the link,

there is no key called DisallowRun in the system

Also, Don't Run Specified Windows applications is already set to Not Configured

If you create a new Windows Amin account on the PC, does it install under it?

Hi Team,

I created another admin account. It does not install under it

With the same error, we assume?

If you right-click and select 'run as administrator', what happens?

Hi,

It throws the same error. Tried running as admin as well, but still the same issue

I have never seen that not work.  Is this a work PC or personal?  If the former, what did your IT people have to say about the error?

I think I got the issue.

Looks like Groupy is using some COM component, that is getting blocked.

Since, this is my work PC, I cannot modify the permissions.

If you guys need any further info from me, please feel free to ask. Else you can close the ticket.

That is interesting and not something we have seen before (we have seen the error, not this cause).  I would still be interested in what your IT people have to say about it - if it can be allowed or worked around.

I don't think the IT team will allow modifying the permissions for single employee, that too for a single app

The thing is, many corporations (much like yourself), are looking for tools that make their employees more productive.  You may be introducing them to something that could help with that.

In any case, if you go to your people and they have questions or requests (changes they would like to see), pass them along for consideration here, please.
