Systray is no longer displayed

Problem related to Windows 11 Beta

After installing the current beta version 22616.1 of Windows 11, the systray is no longer displayed if the option "Let Start11 enhance the startbar" is enabled in Start 11.

This is known.

Microsoft removed the newer taskbar from the build so a Start11 update will be required for it to think it is back to the original Win11 taskbar again.  One of the risks of using Insider builds I am afraid.

Lots of luck with the Start11 update. See the Start11 thread. Essentially the installer downloads the update but doesn't install it, at least for me and some others.

Which update? I'm using Start11 version 1.22 and I can't find a newer one (no beta version either).

1.22 is the latest.

With regards to the issue in this thread, creating the following registry key may resolve the issue.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8

Create a new key of type REG_SZ with the Name "OldTaskbarOn11" and give it a value of 1.

Then sign out and in again.

Excellent, that works great, thank you !

I FINALLY figured this out and got it to work. What needs to be created is not a new registry key (that is not the proper description of it.). What needs to be added is a new binary value within that Start8 key.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, this was driving me nuts, and couldn't find the download to go back to 1.21.
