Start 11 does not open when using the touchscreen

Mouse works, Start key works - just tapping does not.

I'm on a touch-enabled laptop and for some reason, tapping the Start button does not actually open up Start 11. If I click on it or use the Windows key on my keyboard, it does open.

If, under the Control settings for the "Clicking the start button opens" option, I switch from Start 11 menu to Windows menu, it starts to work again (the default menu).

Interestingly, if I disengage the "Use the Start 11 Start Menu" option under Start Menu, I cannot open a start menu through touch anyways.

Another point of potential interest: if I tap the start menu button, while it's set to Windows menu instead of Start 11, and after tapping I move my mouse, I can see that my "cursor" is now set to where I tapped. If, however, I do have Start 11 engaged, tapping does NOT set the cursor position to where I tapped - as if it's a dead zone or does not accept tapping at all, and moving the mouse cursor moves it from the last cursor position, NOT the tap position.

This behaviour is observed on Start 11 1.2 as well as the 1.22 beta. This is a new install (however the system did have the demo version installed a while ago, but that was uninstalled).

OS: Windows 10 Home, 21H1, 19043.1645 - I haven't been offered 21H2 on this machine yet.

Resolution: 1080p, with 125% scaling enabled (although I tried it at 100% as well, and the issue persists).
