Start11 on Touch Screen (Surface)

I continue to have problem when using Start11 on my Surface Pro.  It been there since your first release but I've mainly be using my mouse.  When using the touch screen at least 50% of the time the Windows 11 start menu comes up rather than Start11. Sometimes the Window comes up first for a second and then Start11.  I have the latest version of the app and the latest public Windows.

Let me know if there is anything I can provide to assist in evaluating the problem.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. It is best to include some information on your system.

  1. Windows version, please use Windows own "Winver.exe" to get full version numbers.
  2. Start11 version numbers.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: [link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Does the purge process wipe out my configuration for the start menu?  If so, is there as way to save and recover it or is that part of the process?

The purge and reinstall appears to have done the trick for the touch triggering the Windows 11 Start.  I didn't try and use my backed settings in case that messed something up.  Rebuilding wasn't a big issue.

I spoke too soon.  As soon as I posted the fix works, the problem is back.  But not as frequent.

I'm not sure if I want to get much into the deep clean process.  Your product should be able to work effectively with a basic install.  I hope you have access to a touch based pc to test this issue out.

It should, it just that something else might interfering with its basic function. Hence the suggestion for Cleanboot.

I did some additional testing and when another app is running and in the taskbar this problem is triggered.  If nothing is in the taskbar it isn't there.  I hope that helps.

I installed the 1.18 beta.  The trigger issue doesn't appear to be as common.  There also appears to be more space between the taskbar icons which is great for touch.  

I will continue to use and let you know if the problem is minimal.

I was disappointed that the grouping feature only works with the left aligned start button (based on the initial install).  I've been enjoying it at the center.  Is that going to be an ongoing limitation.
