Task Bar Problem

I've put the task bar on the top of both of my monitors. The secondary monitor has no problem at all. However the Primary display monitor the task bar after a bit will leave a space between the top of the task bar and the top of the screen display. When that happens it no longer hides and the title bar of anything open is under the taskbar and cannot be accessed unless you minimum it the window but the taskbar will if you click on it momentary snap back to the top but still doesn't auto hide is there a fix to this?
