.tga.tga.tga.tga file names? Is this a SkinStudio bug?

is this an import/convert issue?

After a little correspondance with Vampothica recently, I noticed that some of the files in a couple of the skins have duplicated extensions - eg combobox.tga.tga.tga.tga.TGA

Can anyone else who uses SkinStudio - particularly if you use it to import/convert graphics - check whether they have the same issue?

(I don't use it.)

Thanks.

It happens when you use the convert from .tga to .png function, right?

I use an older version of PS (CS3) that was able to retain the non "broken" .tga plugin. That way I can edit my tgas and save them with the transparent background still intact. I have a newer version of PS, but only use CS3 for WB skinning.

2of3 - exactly the same here - I use CS3 with the old version of the tga plugin that works (newer versions of PS don't work with the old tga plugin). One of the reasons I switched to Curtains was that it uses transparent PNGs.

I think SkinStudio may need a correction to its tga/png conversion code...

Has anyone ever tried Paint dot net? It imports and exports tga files and It's a FREE download.
Been using it for 18 years.

I have tried it, but ultimately didn't feel I could do the same in PDN as I could in PS. Perhaps I didn't give it enough time, though. Sidenote: I also struggled with PSP as well. Guess it's just a matter of what you're used to.

If you open an image from within SkinStudio that is a .tga it converts it to .png in you graphics editor. If you decide to save that image as a .png somewhere else for use maybe on a future skin, it will save it as xxxxxxx, tga, png, When you import that image back into a skin it will bring it in as xxxxxxx.tga.tga. So whenever you save an image brought in from SkinStudio to as a .png, you need to remove the .tga from the title. Don't know if this is your issue, but it has happened before to me.
