WinCustomize title suggestion

I suggest that WinCustomize adopt a logo development program. Here is how it works:

- There is a system for users (us) to submit logo designs for the website.
- The website cycles through logos to show a random logo every time a user views a page.
- Optionally you can have a logos section where you can view and rate titles, etc.

Where did this idea come from? See http://www.pouet.net/. They already have this system and it makes viewing the site a lot of fun...

What say you?

Cool idea!

Multiple, random logos on every page-reload would be an unnecessary use of bandwidth, which on a site as poplular as this one, would not be good thing, IMO

Just daily or weekly changes would be plenty

Yeah that would be good. I think I would make one, if the oppourtunity was there.

It can be a user setting, it doesn't have to be on every page load. Compared to the megs and megs of downloads everyone performs (including the screenshots, etc.) I think a new logo download will be comparatively insignificant.

I thought the logo already changed some depending on which theme you chose for Wincustomize. I think it makes sense to have different ones that match a theme you choose for the pages. Otherwise I don't see the need to change it every day or even every month. Usually logos are something a company uses with consistancy to help build brand loyalty. Changing logos all the time confuses the customer.

I would like to see some new or more Themes in Theme Manager.
The ones we have now are getting rather stale if not old, though "Ice" and "Mud" themes are still good.
Also, wouldn't it be something if WC user's could personally create or modify their own?

Just thinking outloud.

It's always fun to see how people can spend other peoples money.

#10, yes agree, I get the feeling that some people think that asp coding is 'simple'.

I do would love to see more themes, I came with the idea too a time ago but I don't think the admins find it a good idea, till now all the themes are done by pixtudio/davidK

Yep, and those same people think Visual Basic is 'basic'...if ya know what I mean...

I do like the idea of more themes...but UniverseMetal is the best one by far...I haven't changed it...well since I had access to it. Come to think of it...even if they DID make more themes, I'd still probably use UniverseMetal...

#10, #11, #12: Hmmm, being a coder, I do have to say that coding asp is not rocket science. Coding in VB is even less so... I think what's harder is to code WELL in those languages since it's just too easy to write a program and make it work somehow. Now, if you ask me, I don't think it's too hard to modify the header code to randomly select a graphic, but I can see how that can be a challange to some...

Tombalaci, coding the random header isn't hard...getting the random headers to match the rest of the site layout is. DeviantART does this well, they have their uniform layout and a box...inside the box you can put any colors/graphics you want, as it won't screw up the look of the layout. The way the site is currently designed here, if you are using the GreenApple theme and someone uploads a metal glass header, it's gonna look kinda stupid, no?

greenaple rocks, I am using it always, nice and bright

I am using the "Universal Metal" theme now too, along with Specter 2003 WB, I would be happier if I could change the "Royal Blue" color of Universal Metal to a different color.
