Issue installing Windowblinds update

Window only visible of mouse over

Hi there,

I'm trying to install an update of window blinds and am suffering from an unusual issue.

When I start the update I get the window blinds setup window appear, with the opening screen for accepting license agreement.

However, I only know this because when I hover over it in the taskbar I can see this.

Once I try to click on it, it disappears. It is the same if try to alt tab to it.

I have tried doing alt-space but again it looses focus and disappears.

With the result I cannot install the update.

Please help.

Thanks.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more.

  1. Windows version 7,8,10 or 11?
  2. Its Windows version numbers. You can use Winver.exe to get to Windows full version numbers.
  3. What version of Windowblinds you have running now and what version of Windowblinds you're trying to update to?

Thanks

Hi Basj,

It is Windows 10 (version 1909 build 18363.1977)

This problem also exists with some other applications, (mostly installs).

Window blinds version is WindowBlinds 10.84 (059 - Windows 10 Edition)

(This issue also exists when Windowblinds is not running).

Thanks,

V.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: [link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thank you,

Try:

  • Applying the default theme in WB
  • Uninstalling WB from the Add \ Remove section of Windows
  • Reboot
  • Then the purge
  • Then the install of the newest version you are trying to get.
