Irrelevant pop-up window when trying to open new tab

I have an annoying problem while using Groupy in the following scenario:

1. The program pdfSAM is installed.

2. One or more pdf files are selected.

3. The preview pane in Windows file explorer is enabled (and pdfSAM does the preview).

Whenever I click "+" to open a new tab, a pop-up window from the pdf program appears, as shown below (4.). The new tab is not opened. Only if I don't have any pdfs selected, then the pop-up does not appear, and the new tab opens normally. This is quite annoying as I often have to quickly preview the content of a file and then move it to another folder.

Unfortunately, I do not have admin access to the affected computer, so my options are limited. I cannot even find a way to change the preview program to Adobe Reader - although Adobe is installed and configured as the default pdf viewer.

Are there any ideas of a workaround to this issue, besides remembering to keep pdfs deselected?

Thanks,

John

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. From what I understand, in groupy when you press the "+" button. It simulate of pressing "Ctrl"+"N" on your keyboard which in Explorer and most application open a new instant of that active application. So if you have MS Word active. Pressing "Ctrl"+"N" will open up a new instant of Word. I do not have pdfSAM to try out. But I have another pdf Editor app and "Ctrl"+"N" open new page. Please try to see if "Ctrl"+"N" work with pdfSAM. Or if possible to stop pdfSAM from catching "Ctrl"+"N" keystroke while on preview mode.

Hi,

Thanks for the prompt reply! I searched in pdfSAM's settings, but I couldn't find any option regarding this key combination or any other keyboard shortcut whatsoever.

For now, I try to remember and have my files deselected when opening a new tab/window. Unfortunately, my options are limited due to lack of admin rights.

Thanks,

John
