PDF Thumbnail Preview

Adobe has a setting that allows the desktop icon for the file to be a preview of the first page (instead of just a generic Adobe logo). This feature works everywhere on my system EXCEPT within the fences on my desktop. In fact, I don't even get a generic Adobe icon - I get a black square with a tiny Adobe logo in the lower right corner. Any idea how to fix this or for it to be addressed in a future update? I've had this problem for years with both Windows 10 and 11.

NOTE: The icon displays properly if I select "View>Large Icons," but not for Medium or Small.
