Groupy basically has the ability to give explorer tabs at the top, at least that is the main function I would use it for. You can also group other opened programs to the tab list.

If you are a Windows 11 user then Fences 4 will be the better program. This is because Fences is in active development to be built around the advantages offered on Windows 11 whereas Groupy, while still compatible, is not going through the same development process.

So far Start 11 and Fences 4 are the first two programs to be built for Windows 11 specifically with more programs to be added to the future after those two are fully developed.

The apps are entirely different.  Fences handles icons on the desktop, Groupy handles windows.

There is no overlap and it is not an either/or thing.

I do think that holds very true for Windows 10 users. I may in fact be wrong here but I do know that how I am using my pc is changing a bit since migrating to Windows 11 and to explain my point I kind of have to get into that some...

Firstly, that biggest change in Windows 11 is the start menu. I hate the start menu here and am very thankful for start 11, great product by the way. However, even when using Start 11 it has still changed how I use the PC, my desktop is empty now and all my icons that were once on my desktop are instead in my start menu which works even better with the page's added. So, now that I am using all my icons only on my start menu I was under the impression that Fences would now be useless..

However, that all changed once Fences 4 came to Beta. Even though I still am not using Fences the same way I did with previous Windows OS's, its new features geared to work with Windows 11 are winning me over. I now mainly use folder portals myself. But I find myself using many of them, and it is nice to have them docked at the top of the screen and looking like a group of tabs. This is very useful for productivity or projects or even sorting files quickly. So, actually I am using Fences completely different then I used to and that may be why I may be drawing comparisons to Groupy. Groupy is also a program I would use for productivity and I would love to see some changes made to go with Windows 11. I love having tabs in file explorer a lot, but I dislike that I can not take advantage of windows 11 snap layout when using it so I did not go beyond the trial. Whereas with Fences 4 I can leave tabs in place or change to a different "project screen" for my different tabs and dont really need snap layout  for productivity but can still use them with the inclusion of windows peak.

Wrong or right, idk, that is my impressions with these software.
