Tiny Icon

Windows 10 Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1348)

Start11 Version 1.0 (Using Windows 11 style)

I have a number of apps display in the menu with a tiny icon.  I have had no luck resizing the icon.

Start11:

Windows 10 menu:

I played with resizing the ICO and assigning it to the app using "IcoFX" and "Greenfish" with no luck.

If an application lacks a larger icon than the size requested, Windows automatically puts the icon in a box and paints it small.  This is normal Windows behaviour.

If you shrink down the size of the icons in the Start11 menu it will act the same as the Win10 menu I believe.

I found three different ways to add app icon to start menu in Start11.

  1. The one I had the most trouble with tiny icons was to use the search, followed by right clicking the found appicon and then clicking "Pin to Start menu (Start11)".  Adding something to the menu using this method gave me several TINY icons.
  2. I was able to get full sized icons using the "Pin file..." on the right click menu.  I used "shell:start menu" .. then "programs" to find my startup shortcuts.
  3. Using Explorer alone and right clicking a shortcut, gives the context option "Pin to Start11".  I got a TINY icon at least once doing this.  I just did it now and it links to a DIFFERENT icon altogether then the one I clicked.  Right clicking the icon that was create on Start11 and selecting "More/Open file location" shows this -> C:\Users\mike\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\StartMenu ... with a DIFFERENT shortcut (different icon and filename) that points to the same application.

So, conclusion...  adding an app to the Start11 menu is a bit of a crapshoot.  You may have to use option #2 to get it right, as #1 and #3 don't work all the time.

on #3 using Explorer context, I was trying to add shortcut
from this path-> C:\Users\mike\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs ...
resulting with this path-> C:\Users\mike\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\StartMenu
