Start 11 update impressions

First off I love this update. I have been a windows insider for windows 11 in the dev preview since it first dropped and it really looks like you guys are in touch with what people are asking for. The top complaints were 1. Windows 10 start menu is better. 2. Not being able to move the task bar. and 3 people really disliked the recommendations being forced in the start menu and wanted an alternative. The update nails a lot of complaints. I think a lot of people will download this program for the windows 10 start menu, but personally what I like the best is what was added to the windows 11 theme. The recommendations adware has been removed, there is better folder support, and best of all you have categories making the ad page option a must have.

I did find one issue however while using the release version of Windows 11. If I turn off search bar in start menu, then the start menu will on occasionally close as soon as it opens which is annoying, when the search bar is turned on it works just fine. I guess I will just leave the search bar turned on however the extra space would be nice. Weird problem and took me a few to figure out.

Also, if I do not use the custom start button option then the start menu appears to be misaligned and occasionally windows 11 built in start menu will open in start 11's place. This isn't an issue for me because I prefer the custom images, but it is still something to be aware of.

Keep up the good work, so far everything is looking really good. A few more tweaks and this should be good to go.

End of quote

We are aware that if you have a left aligned start button on Win11 there is a two pixel wide gap to the left of the button which can open the Win11 menu.  This doesn't animate the start button so isn't a click on the button and I suspect may be leftover code in the OS as you would have expected the button to animate too.  We are looking to resolve this.

As for the issue with search, that is interesting and we will investigate further.  I have a theory myself on whats going on there related to some changes to how cortana based search works.

I would be like to align the start button to the left but keep the icons entered. I tried running TaskBarX alongside Start11 but it doesn't work (it did for Start10)
