Settings for Start11

I just upgraded to Win11 RTM (22000.194) -- I had been using the Beta for some time now -- and downloaded and installed Start11 v 0.55 -- and it seems to work OK -- no issues with File Manager.  But I accidentally chose the option to move the taskbar to the left and NOW, I really want to move it back to the center -- but unlike with Start10, I can not find how to open the Start 11 settings.  Is there some key combination?

UPDATE: I found the Start11 beta thread and found out how to re-center the taskbar, but I still don't see any Start11 Settings page.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Just right click on a blank area of the Start Menu

and you'll get the Config app open with the settings .

Hmm.. I spent too much time looking for this as well. So much so that I bought a different solution for another machine. It would be much more helpful if Stardock would offer an option for "Start 11 Settings" when right clicking the start button or taskbar.

It already does.

In this weeks build you can right click the taskbar and access that setting, right click on an empty area on the start menu and pick config Start11, search for Start11 in the search, or if you enable it we offer the option to replace the right click menu on the start button with a Start11 menu instead of the Win+X one.

In Start10 we defaulted to offering the Start10 menu on right click of the start button but in Start11 we default to the OS Win+X menu as we received complaints people couldn't find that.

Cool. Today the search option works (thank you), but right clicking the taskbar in an empty space only offers "Taskbar Settings" which goes to Personalization > Taskbar. I see no option for Configure Start 11. I assume I just don't have this week's build yet, but look forward to it.

All of Start11 settings (other than pinned items for Win7/Modern menu and obviously the physical shortcuts which your computer may have) are stored in the registry and can be exported or imported using Regedit.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Start8

Yep, this would come handy to be able to save multiple layouts without tweaking into regedit

Please allow me to step in here. It is not my thread, I know, but it is about the same matter and I would just like to verify whether I am understanding things correctly.

So, if I backup the abovementioned registry and restore that after a fresh install, then all the settings, including colours, etc. are restored?
What do I have restore manually? (no program entries I suppose)

Do I need to backup from \Stardock-level or the sub entry \Start8 ?

Thank you!

If you had other Stardock programs installed, they would be listed in the Stardock folder also. To back up Start11, Just Export the Start8 folder which is actually the Start11 app.

Thanks. In my case it involves Start11 only.

Does restoring bring back the colours etc.?

This should restore your Start11 menu to the point in time which you exported the Registry file. Not entirely sure if it will restore custom tile colors you have created, but I would think these are stored in the Registry. I use the Windows 10 Style Start11 menu, but I use the Windows 11 menu style icons. I haven't tested the procedure with tile colors.
