Fences randomly disappear

Started right after I upgraded to the current version

I'm on Windows 10 with all updates installed. 64 bit.

I have

  • AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X 16-Core processor
  • 32GB RAM
  • 3 24" monitors

Every day or two, my fences just disappear, leaving the icons behind in a big jumble (but relatively in the same spots they were inside the fence.

The only thing I've found that fixes it is a full reboot.

It's POSSIBLE it only happens when I have a lot of apps open at the same time, but I've not tested that theory. But it does seem that way.

Hello,
Thanks you, also need to know information on:-

  1. Windows full version number, please use Windows Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.
  2. Fences version.

Thanks

I have same problem. The fences 'disappear' behind the current 'maximize to full screen' for any applications. Its like the fences have lost the 'Remain on top'.

End of phyzxengr's quote

Fences by definition is an application to organize your desktop icons, so, with that, Fences will never be in front of any open Windows. It will always be on your desktop. Fences has never have a function where it will be on top of anything.

Hello 4mythings,

Does Fences reappear if you restart explorer.exe? You can do so via Task Manager->Processes tab->right click on Windows Explorer->Restart.

Thank you,
