I have only ever had a 50% success rate when adding icons to object desktop. It even says, "link," but no icon.

Sorry to hear you are having issues.
Need to clear up your issue .
What version of Windows are you running ( full version )
use winver.exe for that info .
Is your issue with Fences ? if so what version ?

This happened on both Win 10 and 11 platforms. I have gotten past this problem by creating a shortcut first and then adding the shortcut to the application. This resolution works well at this time.
