'Buy' Object Desktop

this may be in the wrong category, if it is, feel free to move it.

Bit of a quibble over the phrasing of the purchase options for Object Desktop.

Yes, in the description it does say that it is only for one year:
"Begin your complete Windows customization experience. Access updates and betas for included software for one year."

"Buy" implies a one time purchase, not a subscription, and it causes consumer confusion. When I purchased OD I thought I was buying a one-time/life-time license, not a 1 year subscription. having the purchase option say "Subscribe to Object Desktop" is very clear cut on what you are purchasing.

Yes, I know, fine print and Caveat Emptor and all that. But is feeling deceived really something you want your customers to feel when you're asking them to renew what they thought was a one time purchase?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Deception is certainly not our intention - we have been selling OD for nearly 2 decades.

Any installer, and their keys, will still work if an account lapses - its just the former are not made available to anyone should it.

That said, anyone wanting to get them, and updates for all the included apps, can do so at a substantial discount:

one might have hoped after so many years of so many posts confusing the issue that it might be made more clear.

And yeah . . . you can argue that it's clear enough. . . . and yet intelligent people are still confused.
