Multiplicity Menu Bar Stuck Down (When NOT in fullscreen mode)

Menu Bar Blocks Top Of Screen - Wont Minimize Automatically

Hi,

Would appreciate any advice on how to properly configure multiplicity to eliminate this or confirm it as bug.

I am running M in kvm mode only. This behavior occurs when viewing any secondary.

However, it takes a specific set of steps to duplicate every time.

Steps to Repro:

1) Connect to any secondary.

2) You will notice that top menu bar is maximized for a few seconds then it auto minimizes. (As expected)

3) Click Minimize ("_" char) on top right side of secondary window to go back to the primary desktop

4) Click M icon in the taskbar to return to secondary desktop

5) Notice M menu bar is maximized and WONT auto minimize. This is really annoying. The top of the secondary screen is covered and there is no obvious way to manually minimize it. I have to click all over the upper part of the screen to get it to shrink

Thanks in advance for any help. If this behavior is configurable, Im too dense to figure it out.

Hello,

If anything, what am I not doing that you are do see your issue:

If you too can provide a shared video link (DropBox, GoogleDrive, YouTube), that would be helpful.

I have uploaded a screen capture. The first part shows the title bar working as expected. After opening, it auto-closed after 3 seconds each time. Then I switch to my empty desktop on the primary. When I switch back, you will see the title bar stuck maximized. It wont autoclose. Please let me know if it is still confusing.

Ok, but does any use of the buttons (fullscreen in MP or Windowed button top right) resolve it?

If I click on the dropped down part of the title bar, it collapses (rolls up) and then it works properly until the next time when i view anything on the primary.

I would be happy to test any config changes or beta code.

This bug isnt a P0 or P1 but the way I use multiplicity, its annoying as this occurs 20+ times a day.

The thing is, and as you can see in my video, it's not normal behavior nor can I reproduce it.

This is a lot to do but if you do a clean boot, does it still happen?

What that might tell us is if there is a Windows setting or 3rd party app contributing to the issue.

Im sorry but I couldnt quite understand your video. Ill watch it again.

Your idea that something else might be interferring is intriguing.

I am going to try several items.

1) Safe mode with networking (hoping the primary's multiplicity service starts)

2) Using MSCONFIG to disable all startup items and services

If it works, Ill keep adding items back til it breaks and report back

I rewatched the video. I dont think you were doing the same steps as I was (also it appears your primary is a mac - couldnt quite tell but this wouldnt be the same)

I saw you press the maximize button in the top right corner and flip on/off 1:1 mode several times. But that isnt the use case for me

I only get the issue when I click the minimize button (looks like "_"). This gets be back to the primary's win 10 desktop.

From what I could see, this wasnt tested.

It would be nice if the title bar was minimized and stayed minimized until I clicked the title bar. The auto-roll down feature is annoying anyway as it rolls down whenever my cursor is near the top. (nice configuration choice enhancement)

I found the issue and solution. I am running a tool called actual multiple monitor. I use it to have windows open applications to which ever monitor I want and to one-click snap any window to to the other screen.

Apparently it some how interferes with multiplicity. I simply created an exception rule for the multiplicity window class and the issue cleared up.

Thanks for all your help.
