Object Desktop & Windows 11

I know it's early, but I am wondering what the software developers of the Object Desktop suite think the effect Windows 11 will have on it. Looks like the new Windows will feature pretty drastic graphical design changes. I read somewhere - I think it was on the Windows Insider site - that the taskbar will be off-limits for changes. Do you think it is a chance for new opportunities, or might it spell the end of OD as we know it, or somewhere in-between?

As of build 22000.65, multi monitor taskbar functionality is almost back. Its missing the taskbar clock and drag/drop pinning and opening with. But because of how Microsoft said that 3rd party apps wont really be able to touch the taskbar, it might be a good time for Stardock to bring back Objectbar. Object bar would be a good alternative replacement to the current taskbar and a bonus would be to build start10 into object bar so that you can have the old start menu. Perfect opportunity Stardock, start tinkering behind the scenes. I know it would be a hit!

I tested Curtains and WindowBlinds Both are not useful for time running Windows 11 Pro. The changes in the graphical surface should be very large so the desktop modding could be heavier or partially impossible This becomes possible for the community a problem of switching to Windows 11  if you wants to continue the Stardock software use at releasing time Windows 11 in 12 weeks.

I would expect Windows 11 to be late October not the 1st October.

With regards to the apps, we would recommend people do not install Windows 11 right now as it is for developers only.  You should expect compatibility problems.

Stardock are currently working on looking at compatible apps and will have information on plans for Windows 11 in the coming weeks.

I would strongly urge against the installation of WindowBlinds in particular as in my testing explorer crashed with it on.
