Fences not auto restoring on monitor reconnection

Multi Monitors and Displayport detection

I have 3 x monitors each with Displayport connections to an Nvidia GTX1080 running latest game ready drivers.  Each is setup NOT to autoswitch source even though there is just the 1 x Displayport per monitor.

I use 3 x screens for work, but when I game on my centre 'gaming' monitor, I power off the other monitors as I don;t need them and to save power.  Windows detects that the monitors are no longer connected and Fences moves all the desktop Folders to the active central screen.  After gaming I turn the other monitors back on and windows detects them and restores the 3 x monitors for the desktop, but Fences does not detect this and I have to manually restore a snapshot every time I do this.   This behaviour does not happen when I had had 3 x monitors with HDMI/DVI/Displayport but now I have 3 x displayports, Fences will not detect monitor swithcing in and out and won't restore the folders to their previous monitor positions.

Thanks.

If you have Object Desktop, I would need you to install the Fences 3.10 beta to see if you still have the issue.

If not, a general release is not too far off.  Here is the current pending changlog:

Thanks.

Not sure if it helps at this stage or not, but I've noticed that if the monitors are switched on 'out of sequence' for the additional #2 and #3 monitors, the monitor numbering sequence changes from the display settings (Identify) to the Colour Manageent monitors (Identify) in the Advanced settings.  Where the former may show 3,1,2 the latter can show 2,1,3  and I've seen that Fences places the snapshot on the latter screen 'number' rather than the former.  I had to create two snapshots for either case!

Yeah, sometimes monitor numbers change. I unfortunately noticed that in games which were set to a specific monitor "number" but next time starting the game it would start on the work monitor instead of the configured gaming monitor ... it is a hassle and I think windows is not behaving very good here (it should maybe remember connected displays and give them a static number or guid unless reset - like it is done for network adapters).

One thing I noticed in Fences since I installed it a while ago, sometimes (I guess it has to do with resolution changes) it does not "fully" reset to the configured size but like 1 pixel less or something like that - enough that last icon of each row is moved to next row.
