Groupy Lags

Hello,

I use Groupy a lot with Chrome and Windows Explorer 5-10 tabs, a lot of files to sort into folders, and Groupy makes my life a lot easier.

However, regularly, it starts to freeze, it lags fors 10's of seconds, and the processor ends up with loads of 25 to 70% by windows explorer, and nothing more can be done.

You have to hard close and relaunch windows explorer.

Without Groupy, I never have these lags or freeze, and even with Groupy installed, if I put it on OFF, there are no lags or freezes with indows explorer.

IF I put it On, it can starts to lag after 10 minutes or 2 hours, so productivity ...

My typical tabs:

Installed Groupy is 1.49.1, but it was the same with 1.48.

Windows is 10 family 18363

Thanks

Alain

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. From your screenshot you grouped few explorer linked to onedrive folders, yes? Does the same issue happen if you group local folders only.

Thanks

I have a similar problem with moving my windows. So I thought I would experiment and only use two local programs, not using my chrome browser. When I group Excel and Onenote and then move them around on the screen I have absolutely no problem with the beta. The problem only occurs when I'm using to local problems and my chrome browser. So obviously it must be a memory issue I'm having.

I use other grouped programs ( Autocad, Foxit, Solibri, Virtualbox, PDF-Xcahnge, Excel, Word )  with Groupy, and I have no issue.

The problem seems to be only with windows explorer.   I will  try to put Chrome outside this group to see if it changes anything.

I have to kill windows explorer 6 or 7 times a day when it becomes too laggy, loading too much the processor.

It is especially sensible on my laptop, wich is slower than my desktop, but my laptop has already 32Go RAM, so it is not a memory problem. (4 core 8 thread processor)

I have the same issue with my desktop, but less sensible, because it is a Ryzen 9 5950X 16/32 core, so very fast, and with 32 threads it uses less processor capacity, as it is 4 times bigger and faster too.

If I put Groupy OFF, I have no problem using the same number of windows explorer, but I can't leave anymore without Groupy  :)

Hello,
Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#reinstalling  Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thank you,
