Using skin studio to modify taskbar

I'm trying to increase the font size of the program names that appear across the taskbar. Using Skinstudio, I changed the font sizes on Desktop->Taskbar->Taskbar Button->Taskbar Button Horizontal but nothing changed. WB4.1/Win2K

Try "Taskbar -> Taskbar Button -> Taskbar Button Horizontal"

Koasati
He had another thread going on this subject and I gave him the same info you did. Apparently he's not understanding, or something is not working right for him

In skin studio, if you're clicking on desktop-->classic taskbar, you're in the wrong section. In the left tree go to "taskbar"-->"taskbar button" . In the right tree in the fonts section, be sure to "add a new font" otherwise you will be changing the default font for the rest of the skin. Hope this helps

You're right, I'm not understanding. I'm not using desktop->classic taskbar. I don't see anywhere to "add a new font"

What version of SkinStudio are you using?

That could be your problem. The latest versionis 3.9.6. Are you an object desktop customer? You can download the latest version thru stardock central.

Definitely a problem with trying to help you out,....... we're looking at a completely new interface, and you have the old one.  If you do have an Object Desktop subscription, you really should download the latest beta of SS. It's much improved, IMHO

Did the above as suggested. Then tried to edit "Font - Normal" as a number, channged it from #5 to #10. Saved the skin but nothing changed.

Boy oh boy! You're having a tough time of it! But hang in there, and we'll try to get u thru this. From your last post, I can't really determine if you did the correct steps, because I have never seen any font set at #5 by default. I've always seen it set at arial #14. Click on my screen name and look at my dektop image (you'll have to enlarge it to see it well). Note what is highlighted in the left and right trees, and note where my mouse cursor is. Where my mouse cursor is , is where you can add and adjust a new font. Good luck

Just looked at your desktop image and that's what I'm trying to do.
It seems like I can change the font in Skin Studio and the fonts will change in the preview pane view of the horizontal task bar button but when I save the skin and load it the fonts all always the same in the horizontal task bar buttons

Ok. How about checking this. Right click on the WB icon in your system tray and choose "configure windowblinds". In the "user overides--->font overides" section, make sure the dialog says the following: "i want to leave fonts the default size" and "all skin defined fonts are replaced by---leave fonts alone"

Yes it does.

Just out of curiosity; the skin you are trying to edit, is it the skin you currently have loaded? If it is, apply a diffent skin, edit the skin in question, then apply it.

what version of WB do you have and what version of windows?

Wow! U certainly posed a tough question to figure out! Im not giving up yet though. If youve done all the correct steps, ther'es no logical reason why your taskbar button fonts havent changed. I tied it myself on one of my skins and it worked like a charm. I am not at all familiar with windows 2000, so I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not. But I have another thought. The skin you are try to edit, is it in Uis or Uis2 format? You can find that out by looking at the skin name in skin studios titlebar. Uis format is a simple format that only allows only limited editing to certain features. BTW , what is the name of the skin? Ican download it and try changing the fonts my self.

When you click "Add new font" you are taken to the Fonts Presets.. there you set up a new font preset. In the case of this skin HotOne, this new font will be #7 you will decide what font, and what size, etc....  be sure to save those changes. Go back to the taskbar setting and confirm the font has changed to #7. YOu might want to change the other font settings also. Save and apply.

Let us know if that helps.

I've tried that. It changes the font in the preview pane the font changes but when I save it and load it, the old fonts remain.

click on my username agin. I downloaded the skin. edited the taskbar button fonts and I had no problem. I changed the font to duchess font, size 16. If you're doing everything that koasati and I have suggested, then I just don't know what more to tell you.

Yeah, that's what I want it to look like. Oh well, thanks for your help. It's a long shot but if you're into reggae music, check my site (niceup.com) and let me know if I can make you a CD or two.

wait eznoh. Just one more thought. Are you sure you're trying to edit the normal font as opposed to focused or pressed?
And thank you, actually I do like reggae. Ill visit you site soon. But no need to make me a cd, I was glad to help. Just wish you could have gotten the result you wanted.
