Keeps asking for product key

WHY does Stardock, all of a sudden, keep asking me for my Product Key.  TODAY, for the second time since April, I was AGAIN asked for my product key.  I have had/used Stardock since 2015  AND  purchased it several times over the past several years.  I am FED UP with the non-responses to my emails about the situation I just described.  I also note that there was a TOTALLY inadequate email response that contained a "productkeyretrieval" link  that DOES NOT WORK at all.

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE???????????????????????????

I bought it direct from Stardock.  I have absolutely NO idea who either of the other

2 mentioned vendors are nor have I ever bought anything from them.   ALL of my

purchases have been with STARDOC ONLY!

The license code YOU supplied begins with AD8FD AND ENDS WITH 33D9B

My original purchase was 8/25/15 with a license code that begins with C2A95 and ends with 42E6D

I have purchased several licenses between 8/25/15  and 6/3/21.

In April  2021 I was confronted by Stardock 10 asking me for my license code.  I entered the code

I had and it didn't work.  An email to Stardock said the key was reset and I received a new license

code.  I was again confronted by Stardock 10 asking for my license code.  At that point I paid for

another license and used it.  On 6/3/21 I was again asked for my license code.  

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS MESS IS GOING TO BE REPEATED IN THE FUTURE??????

OR IS THAT ASKING TOO MUCH???????????????

Just more useless info.   I can see from looking around that YOU have some problems.  Too bad you couldn't tell me about that instead of just leaving me hanging.

Perhaps we can start with the conclusion of that thread.  Are you using AVG TuneUp \ AVAST?

If so, and you look at the logs, is it deleting your license file(s)?

I am     NOT     using AVG tuneup \AVAST

I think the problem is on your end and the issues I see in the blog with your stuff.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. As mentioned in the link Support posted above, it usually something on the system deleting the license Signature files causing the product need to be activate again. It is possible other brand antivirus/security system doing the same too.

We appreciate if you could help us to help you to solve your issue. Appreciate if you could give us, what antivirus you're running so we can look into it.

And, what steps you have take to see what the actual issue is in your end. In the link supply to you above there are few steps you can take and see if it help.

Also, I don't think its on Stardock end, if it is on Stardock, we will see more complains from others on this recently. The one I saw was few months ago. Which was solved when AVG /Avast updates their programs.

Having same issue with latest update for  DeskScapes. Installed it and asked for activation key, which I gave it.  To add to it, it keeps throwing pop ups on my screen even when it is shut down. I assume they are coming through Object Desktop? Or some other Stardock software I have running?

Windows 10 Home Version

Version    10.0.19043 Build 19043

Up to date.

Using Windows Security for anti-virus, etc. and Spybot.

Hello Po,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you checked the link that Sean posted above. There are some test suggested there. Please try those first and report back. Some times the security software is deleting license files. Also look into this guide on error Code 205 : https://forums.stardock.com/486311/accounts-and-activation-support-faq#activationerror. Try those and report back.

Yes, I checked them when I first read this thread. I've gone back and double checked. All of my Stardock software comes directly from Stardock (not Steam, etc). As for other options to activate, DeskScapes doesn't offer the options shown in the 'Fences' example. I do not get the 'save activation request' option when attempting the offline method, even though I can access the ' http://activate.stardock.com/' link with another PC. I was even able to request AND received my download keys.

I have the same problem with fences, except that I get is every day! and a few times during the day too. I have one version dated 2014, it was free then, and another recent copy I paid for for my wife. She did not like it, so I removed it and installed it on my laptop, i think in 2018. I have the key, installed it but it says its not recognised. I have tried everytyhing to get a response for these guys but they never answer.

All email (support@stardock.com) created tickets are auto-responded to and immediately closed. Many companies have this same process as that address (and many other common ones, sales@, info@, etc) are an easy target for spam (its incredible how much they receive daily).
