Does DeskScapes work like a normal wallpaper changer, by that I mean I don't have any animated wallpapers just normal jpg stills, or do I need to convert or download animated photos for it work properly.

Deskscape do work with Static background and you can have playlists to manage your wallpaper choices.

How do you run Deskscapes as a slide show so that it changes the photo daily or is there no option for that?.

In DS11 Make a Playlist add your images and in set your times
in the settings menu ..( see below )

You will need to create playlist for it. You can add folders to it and once it is done. You can apply playlist to all monitors or specific monitor. You also can set the changing speed.

running Deskcapes 10.03, how do we get to the menu you've show to make a playlist, because my settings page is nothing like what you've shown. Ok just downloaded the beta version set up a playlist, as shown, added the folder with all my jpg's in it and applied it to all monitors, but the wallpaper that has come up on screen is not in my play list. Sorry about all the noobness, so how do I get my play list to be applied.

Deskscapes 10 does not have playlists, but it does have the random list which is like a single playlist. You can add wallpapers to that by right clicking and selecting the option to add it to random.
