@SDRohan Have Win 10 Home, not Pro. Not currently trying to group Word 2010 -- fails to group more than 2 apps -- Evernote 10, FileCenter 11.0, TheBrain 10, Obsidian, Firefox, PDF app, etc.  All these have worked fine until the 1.49 update of Groupy.

What about 3 Windows native apps, for example: Notepad, Calc, and Explorer:

Since the last update (1.49.1) I experience "black screen blinking" on my Windows 7 a lot. I have 2 WHQD screens attached and sometimes a screen will go black for a short while when I switch between apps. But I can 100% reproduce the problem if I switch between different tabs in windows explorer. If I switch between 2 different explorer windows, I experience a short screen blackout of about 100-300ms on the active screen, sometimes longer. I have a fairly fast modern graphics card (nVidia GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER) and it is fairly jarring to see this. Is there any way I can roll back to a previous version of Groupy?

Sure thing. Here are two windows one with a single Explorer and one with tabs. when I click between the windows there is no problem but when I change to a tab it "blinks". It always takes a little while (using windows for a few hours) when I notice, but I can try reproducing it with a fresh boot.

Would love to test what happens if I roll back to 1.49 but I do not know where to download legacy builds....

thanks in advance, Axel

Are you using any other monitor software like DisplayFusion?  If so, and you turn it off, does it still happen?

Sorry, clean boot and more diagnostic attempts are too disruptive to getting work done.

I reinstalled ver 1.47. I hope a future update will correct the problem I have with 1.49.1

no I am not using any special display software here... I am using this machine (i7) for development mainly but it used to be an Audio DAW too (Cubase Pro 10) - but now my i9 is my main rigg for audio. I don't use capturing software or nvidia play stuff (not sure what it's called) or anything that I am aware of...

No, im not using anything. but it can be intermittent, if that helps in anyway.

Hello, good night, the same problem that he has, I present it too, it does not matter if displayfusion is running, the same happens

Ok, one more correction, it actually happens also right from the start - we had a power cut this morning and I got the last notification of this thread this morning. So I had no previous explorer windows stored and opened a few (auto-grouping enabled) and the flashing happens right away. I am using Windows aero (the glassy style of Windows 7)..

So where do I get the previous version to test whether this is a regression in 1.49.1?

This is the last build of 1.48.  Try it (uninstall \ reinstall) and let us know if you still see the issue:

That version behaves a lot better indeed. AFter rbooting, there is a very short flashing in the last 3rd on the bottom of any screen that has the explorer windows where I change the tab but it's hardly noticeable. I wonder if the developers modified a Bitblt operation? It's been a while since I programmed windows, so stuff may be a lot different nowadays with hardware acceleration.

I am still running 2 WHQD screens at a resolutions of 2560x1440px if that helps. According to DxDiag, my DirectX version is 11. My driver version of my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER is 27.21.14.5206, and it has 6Gbyte of Ram running at 7000Mhz (my System has 16GByte DDR4-2133 on a MSI B150A Gaming Pro, with an Intel Core i7 6700 running at 3.6Ghz stock speed)

Use to be able to group a locked group, with an unlocked group, but it seems that option is gone. Any chances of bringing that back? I mainly use the lock feature to make sure I don't drag stuff out, but putting stuff in is kinda a nuisance.

Prefer it like this Group Locked can't move any windows in or out, but can move locked window into unlocked window, which at that point its fine by me if it either locks full group or unlocks full group... (prefer it to just lock) I use the same set of windows for work everyday, but certain windows must be closed at end of shift, and it can get bothersome to remember to unlock the window before moving stuff in....

Eh, I might just be to picky though :D

Edit: these programs can't be setup to auto open as first they open a small login window for each app I want to open, and then they make the big window that can be moved in...

Visual unperfection:

when you choose show "tabs above" windows and moves all this groups of tabs.. it looks like it moves unsinhronized with window. And mode speed of movement - more obvious it for eyes. Here is an example

win10 pro 64-bit

Sugesstion:

Add an ability to close whole bunch of tabs in simple mode (when it's not above window) by pressing SHIFT or CTR key at same time as pressing corner close. Here is what I mean

I am, with no issues. Do you expect a possible issue in this case? Here is my system with Groupy & DisplayFusion installed:

I was able to repro this on the available 1.5 beta.  You can click off on anything and it will function again - its just something about the address bar having focus that is causing issues.

I have placed an internal ticket - thanks for the report
