Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

A little more info please .

Windows version ( need full numbered version ) use winver.exe for that.

Just 1 style giving you the issue or all styles ?

are you able to produce a video screen capture and post back here ?

As a tip clicking on the screen when the blurred background is up should get rid of it about 5 seconds later should it appear to get stuck.

I have downgraded to version 10.82 waiting for the issue to get fixed

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But we can't really help you if we are not sure on your problem. There are not many complain from others on Windowblinds V10.84 causing system hang that is not cuasing from system conflict and most of them solvable. To start we need few information.

  1. Your Windows version, please use Winver.exe to get the full Windows version numbers.
  2. Is the issue on styles only happened to all WB themes or just few themes. If only specific themes, could you list down few that causing issues.
  3. Hardware/Display information such as Resolutions, Scaling, anything that might be relevant.
  4. Information on your security/anti-virus software you have on your system.

Thanks

1. Windows 10-1607.

2. Issues with all styles.

3. 1920x1080, 100% scaling

4.  Malwarebytes, Webroot Secure Anywhere Antivirus.

I have tried to uninstall all Stardock apps and reinstall Windows Blind 10.84 as the first one: same issues: first style cursor keeps circling around, choosing following styles Windows Blind retains Windows Default Style.

Then I have made a virtual machine with the latest Windows 10 Version and installed Windows Blind as the first app: no issues.

Anyway on my Windows 10-1607 I had no problem with the former Windows Blind 10.82 and version history says nothing about incomptability between Windows Blind 10.84 and former versions of Windows 10.

I would urge you strongly to update your version of windows regardless as you are using a version that will be 5 years old in August!  It is well outside Microsoft support for Home, Pro and Educational customers.  There have been eight later versions of Windows 10 since.

With regards to the issue, unfortunately you seen unique in this and WB 10.84 was itself released in November 2019.  It is fair to say the number of people using it on such an old version of Windows will be limited however.

We actually have an update to WB in the works so there is a chance it will fix it but I cannot promise anything as we have very little to go on.  If the older version didn't work I would point to say the AV blocking it, but as you say the older version works ok.

Typically stuck applying and nothing happening points to mismatched files, but assuming you uninstalled WB, REBOOTED and then installed the new version that shouldn't be the case.
