Tiles issues

Hello,

I'm using the latest beta of Tiles. I noticed a couple of issues. Can you please fix them in the next release?

1. Auto hide is not working even though I check the setting 'hide tiles when not in use'. Basically, I activate the Tiles sidebar and it shows, but after I click a tile or click outside the Tiles sidebar the Tiles sidebar is not hiding. There should also be an auto hide feature where after some configured time Tiles sidebar should hide in addition to hiding automatically when it loses focus and hide after a tile is clicked.

2. I cannot move/relocate the tab (for easy access) along the edge of the screen. It's position is fixed. I should be able to position it anywhere on the edge of the screen.

3. I think Tiles shows the last viewed page as default, but I should be able to set my own default page whenever I open or unhide the Tiles sidebar.

4. The pages navigation at the top of the sidebar is not user friendly and I have to scroll if I have more than 4 pages. I should be able to position the pages navigation to any edge of the sidebar (preferably on the left) so I can view all pages without having to scroll through the list.

Thanks.

Can not reproduce this issue on my system. Tiles hide itself without issue. Please try the purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/485902/tiles-support-faq#reinstalling

I have forward your request to the Stardock Support Team for their review and recommendations. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We really do appreciate your feedback, Thanks

1) Auto hide will resume auto hiding once you no longer have your mouse over the bar.

2) You can relocate the tab using shift and dragging it.  This is not saved in the beta when reloading tiles, but will be in the release version.

3) Tiles remembers the last page it was on as you correctly noticed.

4) Unfortunately this isn't something thats on our list currently for 2.0.  You can however make the bar wider to fit more on screen and you can scroll by dragging this list at the top, or switch pages using buttons 4/5 on your mouse or even wheel mouse the list using the mouse wheel when over the list at the top.

Thanks Basj and Neil.

I've done many, many tests and I can confirm that auto hide does not work on my end. I call up Tiles using hotkey and I have to press the hotkey again in order to hide Tiles...Tiles does not auto hide on its own when I move the mouse away from it or click on another window.

Regarding the tab - right now the tab is shown all the time. Can the tab be auto hidden and called up on mouse hover over the edge where the tab is auto hidden?

Just to check, have you done the purge and reinstalled steps as I mentioned above?

No I did not. This is the first time I ever installed Tiles and if I have to purge and reinstall for a first install then there is something wrong with the app. Plus, I don't like that at least 2/3rd of the time I'm asked to purge and reinstall when I report a problem.

If other users are having the same issues and they comment here then maybe the issues will get fixed.

When called up by a hotkey the window will not auto hide as you specifically asked it to show.  It is a toggle switch.

The tab cannot be auto hidden as it exists to provide something to click on when in auto hide mode.  Hiding it too would make it have no functional purpose.

OK, the problem is I can't autohide if I call it up using a shortcut key and the tab is blocking window behind it, so I would propose these options.

1. The tab is blocking information/window behind it and I cannot click anything behind the tab, so make (or give the user option in settings) to adjust the width of the tab. I prefer the tab width to be a thin line along the screen edge so it does not block anything. I don't need a tab with text 'Tiles' and an icon which blocks information below it.

2. Allow activation of Tiles on bump of screen edge or mouse over/hover along an activation edge.

It already has number 2.

Disable the tab option entirely and it should work as you want.

I have tab option disabled., but option number 2 (activate Tiles on bump at screen edge) is not working for me.

Tiles is not showing Microsoft store app correctly. I pick the Microsoft Universal app from 'pick running app', but Tiles shows all Universal apps for example calculator, etc. I want to show only the universal apps I'm interested in and no other universal apps.

Can you post a video on this one. It work for me on my dual monitor system. It just take sometimes, 1-2 sec, location of the mouse pointer need to be exactly at the near end of your monitor, for it to turn up.
