taskbar skins not applying issue?

is there no way to get taskbar skin textures to apply? what happens on my end is when i apply a skin, instead of it applying the taskbar texture it just shows the solid color from the windows settings. ive tired multiple skins, closing out of classic shell and googling the problem nothing has worked yet. also, all the text in the notification area is white like default as well and the start button textures don't seem to apply either. what does work is the texture of the buttons for programs that you hover over and that are open.

I believe Classic shell and OpenShell are incompatible with the taskbar support in WindowBlinds even if you disable their support for the taskbar.  Closing it might not work, it might need a reboot.

You are able to use Stardock Curtains instead which does work with Classic Shell/Open Shell however, but it runs different skins so it depends on if you like the more limited options in Curtains vs the greater flexibility with WindowBlinds.

that sucks. restarting is the one thing I didn't try after i closed out of classic shell. i'll try it when i got time and see if the problem is still there.

completely closing out of classic shell fixed taskbar skinning. the text in the notification area and the rest of the taskbar except the clock is still white which makes it quite difficult or impossible to see with some skins.

That's something bound to happen with all the non-default color combinations used in windowblind skins.

You can however make most colors fit or at least look a whole lot better by altering the Windows color mode. Right click desktop and choose Personalize and then select Colors on the left and try out the different settings to best fit your applied Windowblind skin.
