WindowBlinds not working

I recently reinstalled WindowBlinds after a long period without using it, and when I try to activate a skin from the config program, I get the skin's loading screen for awhile, then it just goes back to the Windows default, the skin itself never seems to load.  There is also no WindowBlinds icon in the system tray.  I downloaded and ran Purge_WB.bat, thinking there might be some remnants from when I last ran the program, and got the following messages:

"The module “C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\WindowBlinds\WBCore.exe” was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found.

Make sure that "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\WindowBlinds\WBCore.exe" is a valid DLL or OCX file then try again

The module “C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\WindowBlinds\WBSvr.exe” was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found.

Make sure that "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\WindowBlinds\WBSvr.exe" is a valid DLL or OCX file then try again

I then tried reinstalling WindowBlinds, and still had the same issue, so I tried to manually register those 2 files, and again got the same error.

I am running Windows 10 20H2 (OS Build 19042.746), with WindowBlinds 10.84 (059 - Windows 10 Edition) - 64 bit OS, with WindowBlinds identifying my system as running Windows 10 Enterprise (19041.vb_release.191206-1406).

I have disabled all antivirus programs, including Windows Defender, as well as all other running software, so that I have a clean system, and have even gone so far as to search my registry after removing WindowBlinds and removing every remaining entry for WindowBlinds before reinstalling and trying again.

I have no idea what else I can do to get the program to run properly.  Any suggestions?

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#reinstalling. Just make sure to redownload  the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

If you look at my original post, I already did that, in fact, I've done it several times, so telling me to do the same thing I've already done is pointless.  Furthermore, I installed the latest version of WindowBlinds via both the standalone installer and via Object Desktop Manager.

As already stated, I turned off my antivirus, as well as Windows Defender.  I normally run IObit Malware Fighter 8.4 pro.  I also already tried a clean boot.

Did you even read what I posted?  I already said I run IObit Malware Fighter 8.4 pro.  I would really appreciate it if you would actually read everything I post, so I don't have to keep goining over things with you that I've already covered.  Did you even notice that in my original post there are 2 files that don't seem to be getting registered?  Please, I beg you, reread everything I have typed in before you send a reply.  I'm getting really frustrated with the fact that you do not seem to be paying any attention to what I am saying.

Again, I am sorry, I don't know that IObit Malware Fighter Pro is actually a full Antivirus. I was thinking it just another Malware program. Again, I am sorry. Don't really know about those two files you mentioned since I am not a Dev team. Anyway, I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Note : Since its on weekend now, Support will be slow.

Sorry and Thanks again.

Thank you.  IObit Malware fighter includes the bitdefender antivirus engine, as well as it's own anti-malware and anti-ransomwhere engines. Anyways, I uninstalled it, so that isn't the problem.

I want to give something a try though, if possible.  Is there a way I can download the previous version of WindowBlinds, to see if it might be an issue with the current version?  Nevermind, I found a copy of 10.83 online and tried it, still no luck.

Hello again.

  1. There is no link that I have for older version of Windowblinds.
  2. I have Bitdefender Antivirus but I do not have problem running Windblinds.
  3. Need to know, if you have installed in its default directory, I remember the Dev did mentioned before its important to install Stardock Programs in its default directory for current version of Windows 10.
  4. Have you try "sfc /scannow" just to see if there are corrupted system files?

Thank you,

1. Already found and tried the previous version, didn't work.

2. I uninstalled it, and it still didn't work, so it isn't my antivirus that is the problem.

3. C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\WindowBlinds

4. Yes, no errors found
