Any way to fix glitched icons in the taskbar?

See the picture here.

When I hover over the icons, the glitched parts usually disappear.  But they come back soon and are there more often than not.  Is there any way to prevent them?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your issue.

  1. Windows version, please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.
  2. Windowblinds versions.
  3. Is the issue appear on any skin or only selected few. If few, please list down few of the skins.

Thanks

I have Windows 10 Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.1256), Windowblinds 10.84 (059 - Windows 10 Edition) - 64 Bit OS, and I've only noticed it on the "Plastic Fantastic" skin, though it's really the only skin I've used for more than a minute

Just if it may help, I tested Plastic Fantastic on Windows 10 Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.685) using Windowblinds 10.84 here, and the are no issues at all with the skin that I could find.

Nope, just installed the new Win version and noticed the same glitches right away

Would like to know if the glitch only happen with the same theme? Does it happen on themes that come with Windowblinds?

Thank you,

It seems to be only on the plastic fantastic skin

I can get it to do it by clicking around to switch the button states between active and inactive, and it is really inconsistent.

My guess is it's because the taskbar buttons left/right painting margins are set to 50/59, without smart margins,  and the icon-only buttons are not that wide.  Might need to be fixed on the skin.

I seem to have the best luck re-creating it by leaving a window in an active state for say 30 seconds, then clicking on the desktop to throw it into an inactive state.  My money remains on the margins settings.

I will check the margins and fix if needed tomorrow. Not having this issue here, but I will fix for John and re-upload if needed.

Thanks Tom.  It is an odd one.

Well, I checked the margins, and with each button image being 119 pixels wide, the margins of 50 for the left and 59 for the right are just fine so there is no issue there.

I would recommend applying a different skin, reboot your computer, and then go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds and right click on the PlasFan folder and delete it. Then reboot again and re-install the Plastic Fantastic .wba file and apply.

There could possibly be something corrupted in the skin and that should fix it.

Hope it helps, let me know. :-)

It's not that the painting margins are too wide for the actual image, it's that the 109 pixel total l/r margin size is making it try to push 109 pixels into an object that only displays at 45-50 pixels.  Setting them to 15 each fixes it.

Hm, OK, thanks Dave. I will do that and re-upload. Just weird that I am not experiencing that issue at all here. :-)

NOTE: Skin has been fixed and uploaded for re-approval.
