Red Disaster v2 Animated Wallpaper

I had previously been using this animated wallpaper for a desktop background. I just did a clean Windows 20H2 install and reinstalled Deskscapes. All of my downloaded Dreams were there, but when I opened the program another time this animation was not visible. It's still in the directory with all my other downloads, which are all visible. A search in Deskscapes doesn't find it. I hunted through all the online Dreams and can't find it. It doesn't make sense that this is the only one of my downloads that won't show up when I open the program. Does anyone have any ideas?

I used the link, downloaded it again, and placed it in the folder with all the other animations I have. It still doesn't show up in Deskscapes as an available animation.

Is it running on your desktop now .

Did you reboot your PC ?

What version of Deskscapes ?

I have done a restart. Right now aquarium overstock fish, which I downloaded, is running on this laptop very nicely. I am using Deskscapes 10.3. The Red Disaster v2,2 smooth transition was usable and ran before my Win10 20H2 clean install. All my other downloaded Dreams are fine on this laptop. I have Deskscapes 10.3 on another laptop, also running Win10 20H2 installed through an in-place upgrade rather than a clean install, and Red Disaster shows up just fine in that one (it is located in the same directory on both laptops), and runs just fine on that one.

If you have a problem with a dream try opening your DeskScapes  app

go to settings - Performance Tab - down to see image below each of the

3 settings starting with Media Foundation 1st - EVR - VMR-9

Most should play fine on Media Foundation but some maybe older dreams

might play better on one of the other options .

The problem is not in playing the Dream- it doesn't show up at all as an available for use installed Dream, so there's no way to try it with a different setting. On this computer, it is as if the Dream just doesn't exist, whereas on the other one it shows up just fine.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Are your dreams saved on C drive if so they should show up

here once they have been run ( see image below - the path where stored )

The files for this Dream are indeed located in this folder. I see a cache.ini file and the avi file just as I do for my other downloaded Dreams. I also have the .Dream file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Deskscapes 10, and both Red Disaster v2. Dream and Red Disaster v2.2 Smooth Transition.Dream in Documents\Stardock\Dreams. My other downloaded Dreams, such as Aquarium Overstock Fish, are also similarly placed on both the functioning and the non-functioning computers. Aquarium Overstock Fish is running quite nicely right now on the Red Disaster non-functioning laptop. Red Disaster (neither version) just won't show up in Deskscapes when I open it on the non-functioning computer.

I'll give it a try and let you know how it turns out, probably later tonight.

That did the trick. I redownloaded the dream, installed it, and it popped up when I opened Deskscapes, and it is now running on my desktop perfectly. I really, really appreciate all the time and trouble you went through to help me out on this. How do I thank you on this forum?
