Desktop spilling

in multi monitor situation

I have icons placed on my "main" desktop. Icons on the edge of the "main" monitor/desktop appear in the adjacent monitor which has extend desktop to this display in the windows display setting. This irks as if I am working on my "main" monitor I want all icons thereon.

if I drag the desktop to bring the icons onto the main monitor they dutifully come but when I release the mouse buttons the desktop springs back i.e. the icons again appear at the edge of the other adjacent monitor.

Of course I fixed it by relocating the icons more centrally on the main monitor but the question remains as to why the desktop is spilling to the adjacent monitor. When the icons were origionally placed at the edge of the desktop I had only 1 monitor unfortunately I cannot recall when and how they started spilling. I'm pretty sure that when the other monitors were added there was no apparent spilling.

Any ideas anyone on where the culprit is and how to fix permanently, as I have a column of icons down the edge of which some edge pixels spill onto the adjacent edge of the other monitor. Obviously to move the whole column centrally as I did with the previous outlying icons is not a solution as it would then defeat the whole icon structure established.

This is from another computer with Fences Installed

It created and inserts this gap, and puts all newly created icons in that gap.

I don't think Fences can control icons outside a Fence. What I would like to advice, to make sure all desktop icon stay where ever you like. Try this steps.

  1. Create a new Fence.
  2. Place it somewhere you like.
  3. Create a Fence rule for that new fences so that all new Icons goes there.
  4. If you wish, you can make this Fence transparent background

No, that's just plain dumb to do. I want icons to go to the regular desktop first and then I will move if needed. Fences has done this on every computer I have ever tried to install it on.
