Change start menu color independently from accent color setting?

Is there a way to independently set the start menu color from the Win 10 accent color setting? At the moment the start menu stays the same as the taskbar color. I was hoping following this article it would work by changing the ColorPrevalence registry key setting but it seems Start10 ignores that.

I want to set the start menu to black and keep my taskbar green.

Hello,
From what I know your Start10 menu color will always follow the accent color. But you can apply background graphics to the Startmenu. Please refer to screenshot below. You can supply your own all black graphics and use that instead the "carbon fibre" shown in the screenshot below.

On the main Start10 settings page you can pick a colour for the menu from the settings button.

I recently installed Start 11 and found my submenus are now black instead the grey they were before.  How do I change them back?

Thanks

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try to change your Windows theme to light. You should get something like this.

Are you using the Windows 7 style or Modern style?

Thanks for your prompt reply!

I'm using the Modern Style

Here's my current Theme and settings Color settings

Tried switching default Windows mode to Light and still get this!

Was looking for a way to send you a copy of my "Start11 Backup.S11Backup", but I don't see a way to.

Thanks again

Greg

Someone mentioned this setting resolved his setting, similar to yours.

If you do the Setting back up, than do a reset setting, does the black background issue gone? If yes, than there is something in your setting that causing it. Are you using custom background for your Start menu and taskbar or its custom color setting?

Yes, Start10 will not work on Windows 11, you will need Start11 for Windows 11.
