Creating New Folder inside Folder Portal using keyboard shortcut moves the folder onto Desktop

So I have a folder portal on my desktop. I want to create a new folder in the portal. I can very well do this if I do right-click>New>Folder. However, I am a keyboard shortcut user so I do Ctrl+Shift+N to create a new folder. I make sure the folder portal is in focus and I am using the shortcut after having clicked on the portal fence to make it active.

Once I hit the shortcut, the New Folder is created on the actual Desktop rather than inside the portal.

Is there any workaround to this? If not, is there anywhere I can report this as a bug so it can be fixed in v4 perhaps?
