Groupy Colors

Since I have no clue which description (active vs inactive vs non focused) refers to which section of the screen, as a test I have changed my colors set as follows:

  1. Default active tab color (R:0, G:128, B:64) [apparently this is the one selected tab on the top row when in focus?]
  2. Default active tab non focused color (R:0, G:64, B:0)  [apparently the one selected tab on the top row when in not in focus?]
  3. Default inactive tab color (R:34, G:34, B:34) [seems to have zero effect]
  4. Default inactive tab non focused color (R:128, G:64, B:0)

but my windows wind up looking like this when in focus:

Groupy colors

It's not awful, except my font color (a setting I cannot find anywhere) is white for some reason, and almost illegible!

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Can we get a little more info please.

What versions of Windows ( full numbered version )

Version of Groupy tour running ?

I'm running Groupy 1.43 on Windows 10 Home 64-bit OS with x64-based processor.

I only see the white text when Groupy has focus, BTW. If I give focus to another window, the font color is black.

Does the font color come from Groupy? It should, if you ask me, but I understand it might not be technically feasible or even possible.

But wherever it comes from, it ought to be smart enough to understand you don't use a light font on a light background or a dark font on a dark background.

I just realized I left out that color 4 (above) also had no effect (I added that above in red.)

I have set my copy of Groupy to those colours and as expected things look as you request.  The issue seems to be for some reason the inactive tabs colours are not painting which is why you are seeing white text on a light background.

An active tab is the active tab in a group, so active tab colour is the selected tab in a group that has focus.  The non focused version of this colour is used when the group is not the foreground window/group.

Likewise the inactive tab colours are used for the other tabs which are not the selected tabs in the group.

The text colour is automatically picked depending on if it needs to be black or white based on the colours.  For some reason on your computer the colour being picked is correct for the colour you have picked for inactive tabs, but it is then not painting that background colour.

If you pick a different system wide colour in Windows settings for your accent / titlebar colour, does it have any impact?

I just switched to a dark theme and now the font colors are black are fine. Now that I'm done figuring out what is meant by all the different color choices I've got everything working to my satisfaction. Thanks for the help.
