Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information on your issue.

1) Windows 10 full version numbers. Please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.

2) Groupy versions.

3) Need more detail information on your issue. 3 full sets of groups. Each groups with how many application/documents? What is the error popup when you try to make the 4th group? And any other relevant information on the issue so we can try to recreate the issue.

Thanks

1) 1909 (Build 18363.959)

2) 1.32

3)

1 Group has 6 Tabs with 5 Firefox (about 3-5 tabs a piece) 1 tab chrome 3 tab

1 Group 6 Notepad.exe

1 Group Runs 1 Special program (can have about 4 open at 1 time if needed (work program)) 1 Chrome window & 2 Excel Files.

All of which is required everyday for work, and being able to consolidate it has been a huge blessing on production.

4)

No error messages, the window goes blue like it wants to group items, and fan cpu fan runs faster, and then nothing it just doesn't group... no error messages at all.

However, i did test grouping just 4+ sets of just notepad and it still wouldn't do the 4th set.... So I don't think my programs are the issue....

Have you ever installed any other apps which offer tabs for Windows?

Nope, in fact didn't know of programs like this until this program. (other than normal stuff)

What does that mean, exactly?

If you test groups of just, say, Notepad - no other apps in the groups - cant you do it then?  If you do any more groups without the above app, does it then allow for it?

any more than 3 separate groupys going on and it wont work.... I can have as many "tabs as I want inside each group"....

Let me try define it another since it seems you guys don't understand what i mean by groups...

I cannot have more than 3 instances of groupy running at 1 time... I can have many tabs and or windows inside each groupy but no more than 3 groups.

It doesn't matter what app is being used....

disregard the fact these are the same images, imagine each 1 has diff programs in it... i don't know 10 tabs a piece with different programs of all types... Works Great!!!

Now try to add a new one with new apps/programs will not work.....

I get that but we cannot reproduce it nor have we had any other such reports.  If this is not what you mean, please correct:

If so, it's why I wanted to know what was 'special' about that app and to do tests with basic Windows ones.

Ah.... Good! Yes.... That is my problem... However, the problem still occurs even with the "special" apps closed down. And the only thing that makes it special really, is that its a forced windows size that can not be changed... which isn't that special.... lol

FYI, I am not that upset about this and willing to work with it, but I an another co-worker are testing this app out, and we both think it would be great for the whole company. However, we need to work out any bugs/glitches first before we present it. Though so far 2 Supervisors think it would be an excellent addition, because most only have dual screens and it is hard to handle over 30 windows on just 2 screens, and some are even worse off at just 1 screen.

I am fairly well off with tech knowledge but a lot of the rest of the team... not so much... so 1 minor glitch can throw someone into a hissy fit lol.

I know how to resolve this issue, rather easily, but the question is why does it occur in the first place and how can that be avoided/stopped.

Fix = Restart Groupy

If everyone had to do this all the time it would get really annoying, because it takes about 5-10 mins just to reorganize everything after groupy resets them.

I put computer in sleep mode vs restarting PC everyday and just restart on my days off. Could this be a cause? (And most of my co-workers do the same thing)

Reason I put into sleep mode vs restarting... I have dozens of things i have to re-open, and settings that reset upon every restart that is easier to take care once a week than everyday.

What you write here implies that it does not happen all the time, that you can have more than 3 groups, just that something causes it to have a limit.  Nailing down how to reproduce that \ those conditions would be key to solving it.

Well, I just started using the program a few days ago... and that's how long it persisted... worked fine the first day then started having issues. (i put PC to sleep every night)  I really think it has something to do with PC going into sleep mode vs restarting.

I'll be using it all day today extensively so I will test and make sure i can keep creating new groups, if I can then in the morning after i wake my PC I will test again if it stops working then it is sleepmode.

Update: Still works after restart, however, Putting PC to Sleep and Waking back up messes up Groupy for some reason. It will keep current groups, and allow me to add to those groups but no "new" groups can be created. I have to turn Groupy on and off to resolve.

So, after checking this morning Task Manager has Groupy at "Very High Power Usage" and will not let me make any new groups. However, after turning groupy on and off, power usage goes to very low, and then I can merge more groups.
