What version of Windows & Object Dock are you running? FYI, Object Dock is not fully compatible with Windows 10, although it might work.
There is a troubleshooting section in the settings that you can work with if you like, pictures here:
windows 10 object dock 2.20.0.862
ive been using it for 2 years but only till recently have i started having serious lagging issues
I am using Object Desktop with Windows 10 2004 and it works fine usually, a bit of lag but sometimes the text that appears over each dock item as hovered over is sometimes is left stranded on the desktop and from then on no text appears over the icons until a reboot. Any thoughts. Also when will Object Desktop be fully compatable with Windows 10

Roy
Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues.
As reported and I guess you mean Object Dock .. is Not supported for Windows 10 and ( 2004 )
some features will work and some not .
There is no plans at this time to expect a change or update for OD.

I am disappointed that Object Dock will not be updated for Windows 10. I am currently running it on Windows 10 2004 and it pretty much works ok. I have checked the Stardock website and although it shows the system requirements as Windows 8 & 7 it does not show that it is not Windows 10 compatible in which case I probably would not have bought it. Having said that and having investigated other available docking software it look to me to be one of the better ones and as i say works most of the time. Given that it is marketed by Stardock as windows most popular docking software perhaps you could explain why it would not be updated for Windows 10. Kind of feel that Stardock has lost the plot a bit here.

I have to agree with roy216 on this one. Why on earth are you abandoning the software that got you where you are? Object Dock was the best Windows dock out there (not a fan of the mess rocketdock always was) and you are just tossing it aside. To say this is dissapointing is an understatement.
If you truly are planning to abandon it, do the right thing at least and open source it. That way someone can at least keep this great software going.
What is the best alternative to Object Dock? I cannot get the "Settings" to display now? Was OK a couple weeks ago? Left click on icons stopped working. I have to right click and select Open. I have Windows 10 pro 1909.
I would have to second Winstep Nexus. Really good dock, still supported, and actually works with Windows 10.
I am trying Winstep. Nice features.
I am also trying Stardock ObjectDesktop Fences. The Folder Portal feature is great. I have a directory full of links to all my applications.
I am using both.
