Automatic grouping?

There is an option in the Application Grouping settings for "Group newly opened windows if the Ctrl key is held down whilst opening them."  It seems that all of my MS Office files group automatically when opened, regardless of whether this setting is selected.  How do I turn this off?

Additionally, there's an option to "automatically group all XXX windows together", and another to "automatically exclude from auto grouping all XXX windows".  How about "automatically do nothing with XXX windows, manual grouping only"?

What am I missing?

Thank you,

Please post a screenshot of this listing when you have done all the "exclude autogrouping all xxx.exe" as I have mentioned above.

And still, Powerpoint and Word automatically group when you open it individually?

What do you mean? If you open by double click on powerpoint document in Windows Explorer, does it group automatically?

I believe, Powerpoint or any application will always open in a group if you press that "+" button.

I open the application from the windows start menu, without opening a document.  OR if I double click on a document to open the document in the application, either way - it opens the app in a new Group.  That '+' button you refer to is the new group that was created (unwanted).  If I press it, it opens another new document and adds it to the group.

By default office apps have that feature enabled.

If you click the three dots menu and untick the always show tabs for this type of window it will no longer add that unless the document is in a group.

Yes that is normal groupy behavior, if you do not wish the tabs to appear with ungrouped programs you can disable the tabs by unselect "Always show tabs for this type of window".
