Mouse Icon not changing in DAW program in KVM mode

Currently I am (KVM) remoting into a  local computer that is using Reaper for audio editing.

However I have noticed my mouse icon is not changing when I am editing audio. Normally the when I am at the edge of a wave file or the edge of a channel/track, my mouse icon changes to a bracket shape to show I can then manipulate the audio in that particular way. I need to do this 1000s of times a day so not getting that feedback from the mouse icons is very disruptive. This is also just one example of the mouse icon not changing.

Is there a setting to fix this?

Does the computer have a physical mouse attached?

My primary does, (keyboard USB, mouse wireless Logitech MX Master).

My secondary, the one I am editing audio on, does not have a mouse or keyboard attached.

I have noticed that in all programs on my secondary my mouse cursor is not changing to reflect the action that clicking my mouse will have.

Anyone have a solution for this?

In Windows settings on the Ease of Access enable the mouse keys feature.  This will make Windows believe there is a pointer and so update the mouse cursor image correctly.

If you do plug a mouse in, not using it but having one plugged in - does that change the behavior when you are remotely connected to it?

THIS - did the trick. My mouse is now reacting to the change in action.

Thank you very much much Neil.

Neil's suggestion fixed the issue but I can still try this if you are curious?

Good to hear... I don't doubt it would work but wanted to be sure is all.
