Word wobblies!!

Hi
New to the board not to mention the whole business of Winskins! Have been using them for just a week - the whole heap - desktop/winblinds/cursors etc.
My recurrent problem occurs with one or two skins in particular - when I try to perhaps start a new email from Outlook using Word - the entire screen literally wobbles/flashes and the Word doc takes a whole 20 secs before it loads properly. Not a major issue as once it does I can then carry on as normal. Just wondering is this a normal sort of effect with skins and some MS progs or something else in my settings that I could change perhaps?? I'm about to upgrade from my titchy 14 inch (low res) monitor to a proper 17 inch one which might alleviate some issues possibly but would like some input on this one if anyone's come across it?

Thanks
TR

I haven't run into that problem on either machine. Might be the refresh rate. Just a guess. Didn't know there were any 14 in monitors still out there.

Hah - bit like discovering someone still using a Speccie or something isn't it?? Sort of shocked myself to realise just HOW small the darned thing is but tis indeed 7 years or more old but working fine otherwise. Be interesting to see whether the upgrade does solve the problem. Have to also see whether its my current skin in particular or all skins as I've not yet ascertained that one. Using Win 2000 with Office XP, so doubtful to be an OS or MS issue in reality.

Let you know if I pin it down further.

I sporadically have the same problem, but with Internet Explorer (I don't have any of the "Office" software, so I can't comment on that). It *could* be an undiscovered bug in WBlinds, but that is highly unlikely, it's more likely to be a third application that you also have running. Is there anything else that you are using at the same time?

Oh boy - where'd you want me to start on that one - I must be running about 6 programs (or more) all at once!! And that's not including the tons of other background apps that seem to have suddenly overtaken my PC . Yeah you could be right though - must go see whether shutting the rest down makes any dent in it. Just as well I don't suffer from epilepsy though I can tell you - it's worse than some of yon disco lights you get for flicker

In WB config. exclude app. Winword.exe (and any other proggies that show a problem with WB)

Woweeee - works a treat - never noticed that facility or rather when I did wasn't aware that was where to put in other apps - wasn't really sure what it was for. So thanks for that one - now I can REALLY enjoy my skins fully!!
Thanks for all your input
