Preventing Thumbnail previews in Tiles ?

Hi,

 

I wanted to know if there is a way to prevent Active Tiles thumbnail previews. I don't want to see them running. I can remove the preview BUT the empty box still shows. Is there a way to deactivate everything all together so that even the empty box does not appear ??
