Audio issues

I recently renewed my subscription to Object Desktop and unfortunately will be unable to use it. Most of the programs mess with my audio card (Only fences does not). If I lock my computer for any longer then say 30 minutes it messes with my audio card drivers. No sounds would play in any program (all programs not just Object Desktop programs). I tried everything I could think of . It was to the point that I needed to uninstall the sound card in device manager and reboot to re-install the drivers(did that a few dozen times trying to troubleshoot this. Nothing I did would  fix the issue other then what I listed above. I uninstalled every piece of software from Object Desktop and tested it.  Fences was the last and I haven't experienced the problem since. I can only use Fences (which is a plus because it is my favorite software in Object Desktop).

So something in the software is taking over my sound card drivers or corrupting them to the point that I need to force Windows to re-install them. If anyone has a fix for this I would greatly appreciate it. I've searched the forums and haven't found anything like this.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. From what I know Groupy, Start10/Start8 and IconPackager does not include any control on sound. Try installing that first and report back.

Do that and report back..

BTW, also need to know your Windows Version. Please use Winver.exe to get full Windows version numbers

Thanks

Oh man this has been a convoluted ride. So I tried installing things one by one. Still had the problem with everything except fences.  I uninstalled everything and started over. Same thing. So I went and bit the bullet. I formatted and re-installed the operating system. I then installed all the object desktop apps except Sound Packager before everything else. Then I installed everything else. It took a while since there was over 10 terabytes to re-install. But, after many, many hours of install and reboot...rinse and repeat. Everything seems to be working as expected. Not installing Sound packager though. I don't trust it enough and I don't want to go through this again.

Thanks for the assistance. It seems to be resolved now.

Aaaaaand it starts all over again.  I am done. I've spent way too much of my time on this. I've uninstalled and reinstalled this more then anyone should have to.  I've also formatted my hard drive twice. Second time I just installed  Object desktop.  It worked for a bit and then started again (and Cursor FX actually worked in mirror mode! bummer!) If I uninstall anything Object desktop everything works as expected.

I get the clue. I don't need to use this bit of software.

This is the moment I realized I am too old to spend days trying to solve this and that depresses me. I never thought this day would come. ACK (20 bonus points if you get that reference)!

Its' been a ride but, I give up.

None of the ObjectDesktop applications should have any impact on your sound drivers.
