Cannot Drag & Drop copy files from one computer to another

Using Multiplicity KVM Pro V 3.44 Build 00090

Running Windows 10 Pro V 1909   OS Build 18363.657

I cannot drag & drop files from my secondary computer to my primary computer or vise versa.

Following suggestions in the user manual: Troubleshooting

Multiplicity KVM Pro is activated on primary computer

Share clipboard between computers is checked as are all of the boxes under Share clipboard on primary computer

Checking Windows Firewall/Inbound Rules I find the following:

Multiplicity Audio Service: Enabled-Yes; Action-Allow; Local address-any; Remote address-any; Local port 30567; Remote Port-Any

Multiplicity Clipboard: Enabled-Yes; Action-Allow; Local Address-Any; Remote-Address-Any; Local Port-30565; Remote Port-Any

Multiplicity Remote Screen Service: Enabled-Yes; Action-Allow; Local Address-Any; Remote Address-Any; Local Port-30569; Remote Port-Any

Multiplicity Service: Enabled-Yes; Action-Allow; Local Address-Any; Remote Address-Any; Local Port-30564; Remote Port-Any

I do not find any other listings for Multiplicity either in Name or Group, specifically I do not find: Multiplicity Application (clipboard).

Installation was directly from the downloaded installer.

No - I've been through the manual, which is where I got the port numbers, names, etc to look for.

I'm now having an additional problem. The audio will not play. It was working earlier this morning but has quit.

Update:

I uninstalled Multiplicity KVM Pro from both my primary and secondary computers using Revo Uninstaller Pro and then did a registry search for both stardock and multiplicity to remove any remaining references to the program. After a fresh reinstall of the program on both my primary and secondary computers the audio is now working and I can drag and drop from the secondary to primary computer. I still cannot drag and drop from my primary to my secondary computer. I would appreciate any help in getting this remaining problem resolved.

Thanks - revision of my update: I cannot drag and drop files from either the primary or secondary computers. When I try to drag from the secondary to the primary I get an icon that resembles the 'Create a shortcut' icon but the file does not get copied. When I try to drag from the primary to the secondary I get the circle with a line through it.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

First, if you are trying to drag and drop (D&D) in a KVM session (a remote connection) that will not work.  D&D is only for Seamless connections.  Copy / paste does work for both.

If are only expecting it to work for Seamless, and you still have issues with D&D on those, it is almost always a firewall issue.

As a test turn off any and all firewalls, including Windows native on each box:

Reboot and test again.

Thanks for the information. I am using Multiplicity to access a computer that is remote so the seamless method won't work for me. I misunderstood that drag and drop only worked with seamless mode not KVM. I have tried copy/paste and it works fine and will do what I need it to do.

So glad I found this. It was a firewall on my VPN for me that did it. If anyone is using a VPN and has this issue, check to make sure LAN traffic is enabled.
