SoundPackager 10 - Installation Problem: Code 121

I just enabled 'beta' downloads and tried installing SoundPackager 10. After downloading, it pops up a message in ObjectDesktop that says:

SoundPackager 10 - Problem: Code 121

Any idea how to get past this? I closed ObjectDesktop and reopened it administratively, and tried installing again.

Thanks!

Blessed Windows 10 for not making any notifications of what was going on.

I found the SoundPackager 10_9.9_beta.exe in my downloads folder and manually tried installing. It failed, but actually gave a better notification (Could not create a folder). I remember this happening when I first installed some other of your programs. Went into Windows Virus settings, History, and saw that they were quietly blocking your installer.

So I 'allowed' and tried again. Same error. Every time the installer would start, it would create a different-named installer, which I would have to allow (after it failed). I ended up disabling Windows Ransomware protection "Controlled folder access", and installing by itself, then re-enabling it. I expect I'll have to monitor the history for a while and 'allow' the fully-installed program to be able to modify system folders.

"Controlled folder access"
End of SsDSfxY's quote

Is so very problematic as Win10 does not indicate that is what is blocking it - it looks to the user that it's an installer/app issue.  Its a testament to your knowledge of Windows 10 that you were able to solve this on your own - the overwhelming majority do not nor should they be expected to with such limited/cryptic information from the OS.

Just as a follow-up, I did not need to allow anything else after the install was finished. Controlled Folder Access only caused issues on the SoundPackager installer, not the app itself.

Does your installation file say the same File Version as mine does? (if you right-click on the installer, which I found in my Downloads folder, and click on Properties)

Because I know you are on the latest Win10 Insider build - we may have a fix (very soon) for this very issue.

Thank you for the report.
