Cannot instal DeskScapes

Hello there can you help me?

I`m having problems with instaling DeskScapes 10 at Windows 10

This is the message I constantly recieve>

 

It says it cannot find the file and if I have used the right name to try again.(Translation)

Maybe a former instalation of DeskScapes, early version, may cause problems?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try the purge and reinstall step as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall, it is recommended  to install in default directory, reboot again. Retest and report back.

Hi Basj,

I have tright your help instructions but it doen`t work. After the purge and rebooting I have tright to instal deskscapes (who I have bought yesterday (up to date!!!!) but after the instaling proces the same message appears(see screenshot above)

 

Have you got any other solutions?

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

What ( Full ) version of Windows are you running ?

What version of DeskScapes are you trying to install ?

Are you installing to the Default location ?

Can you type the full error message and we can Translate it .

Please answer ALL the above questions ..

Hello,

-Windows 10 pro

-latest version of DeskScapes(The one I have bought yesrterday)

-I`m installing on the default location where all my software has been installed

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Is this at the very end of the DS installation?  If you go to that folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\DeskScapes10

Does the file DeskScapesConfig.exe exist?  If you run it, does it pop the config?

Yes Sean,

It`s on the very end of the installation.

(Ever since I have tried to instal an older version of DeskScapes it goes wrong)There fore I bought the latest version yesterday and hoping the problem would go away.Because I`m very happy with DeskScapes.If it works :(

It does exist but it won`t run if I click on it. 

 

I think I have a solution :What if I remove manualy al Stardock elements in c:Programfiles (86)?Can anybody help me with a removal tool because some elements won`t be deleted?

Maybe then I can install DeskScapes?

If after you run the purge / reboot is there still a DS directory with files:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\DeskScapes10

If so, delete it.

Also, is there a DS key in your registry:

regedit.exe

\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock

Hello Sean,

I have tried your sugestion,here above, several times.I even manualy removed any residu left of Stardock(Only DeskScapes other software from Stardock I don`t have)

And still that anoying dialog box appears.(See screenshot above)

 

I hope you or anybody else stil can help me....

Have you tried disabling your AntiVirus software and installing/running it?

Perhaps as a last effort, try the clean boot:
