Version 10 Issues

Hi Team

Have been having a consistent issue with DeskScapes and upgrading hasn't helped. Uninstalling and reinstalling makes no difference.

Issue

  • Right click on desktop; select Configure DeskScapes
  • Select local image (I mainly use DeskScapes for the all-in-one catalog and never bother with video or effects)
  • Apply; image change is applied immediately
  • Select a second local image
  • Apply; image isn't applied immediately
  • Right click on desktop; NO Menu is displayed
  • Approximately 30 seconds later the new image is applied but right click desktop menu still not available
  • Approximately 30 seconds later the right click desktop menu is finally available

Very weird behavior and clearly something is not happy. I've posted an event log error that sometimes occurs but doesn't seem to happen every time.

Not a lot to go on but please note that even after a full Win 10 reinstall (new SSD :D) this issue persists.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

What is the full version of Windows 10 you are running

use ( winver.exe ) to get that.

and what version of DeskScapes ?

DeskscapesConfig.exe version 10.0.2.0

For Windows version 10.0.18362, it corresponds to 1903 19H1 (Info here)

Would you Please try this PURGE different than a regular uninstall https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#reinstalling

Reboot and ReInstall the latest version from your account https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products/

Reboot test and reporty back please .

Not sure what 'witchcraft' this is but shortly after this post; the problem self-corrected! I did/changed nothing; the day of this being logged it was faulting but after a reboot it was okay but reboots have previously made no difference.

Thank you for you input and hopefully I haven't wasted anyone's time overly much.
