I ran the uninstaller, but now Window Blinds refuses to install:

I also tried running the installer from an elevated command prompt. Same result.

Also- having uninstalled WindowBlinds, the problem with the taskbar resolved immediately. Definitely WindowBlinds was the sole cause of the frozen and inaccessible taskbar. The November update has so far cost me over an hour in downtime.

Hello,

Did you run the purge and reboot after the purge is done? And did you re-download the latest version again from your account, And use that version to install? Reboot again after the installation. Report back.

BTW, would like to know more on your system.

1) Windows 10 version. Please use winver.exe for full windows version numbers.

2) Anti-virus you have on your system.

3) Windowblinds version your are trying to install. 1.80?

Thank you,

1. Build 1909

2. Windows Defender

3. I downloaded the latest version from this site.

Ran the WB_PURGE at a elevated command prompt, ran CCLEANER, and rebooted. Nothing doing.

First I had problems uninstalling.  Now, I can't get this product reinstalled for anything. Basically, I had one good year, time's up eh?

I saw where another user had the same problem, decompression error #2026, back in 2018. This is a common thing.

I would advise other users of this product to turn OFF ALL UPDATES. UPDATES = PRODUCT NO LONGER WORKS.

I don't have a lot of time to debug your software - I work full-time. I suggest your developers, also, need to work full-time and quit breaking the product. Certainly not a happy customer!
